We are totally committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to recognised good trading codes of practice.

We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service.

We will not e-mail you in the future except in connection with your order or in response to an enquiry unless you have elected to join our mailing list. We will not disclose your address or any other personal information to third parties except at your request.

The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number and email address.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law and good trading codes of practice.

If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.

We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a 'cookie' which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.

Disabling cookies will, however, prevent you from being able to place an order through our site as our software relies on cookies to keep track of the items in your shopping cart.

If you do not want to provide us with any personal details over the internet we will be happy to deal with you by phone.

If you have any questions/comments about privacy, you should email us.

The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

If you wish to remove your information from public display, or our database, please get in touch via our email or phone/fax.

External Links

Carters provide external links to other websites. Carters can accept no responsibility for the quality of the external sites or the levels of privacy protection they provide. You should read these sites' privacy statements.

Email Policy

Carters do not SPAM or condone UCE. We do however send out emailshots from time to time for events such as shows, sales and major company related news. The only email addresses we keep on record for these emailshots are from our own customers who did not 'opt-out' before the December 2003 Legislation or those who 'opted-in' after that date. This list includes online shoppers, competition entrants, catalogue subscribers and those who have specifically signed-up for mailing list purposes.
